Nola



The modern Nola; one of the most ancient towns in Campania, twenty-one Roman miles southeast of Capua, celebrated as the place where the emperor Augustus died.

In the neigbourhood of the town some of the most beantiful Campanian vases have been found in modern times.

The town was destroyed by Genseric in A.D. 455. (Harpers Dictionary of Classical Antiquities, 1898)
